Generation supply a large range of Aluminium Beams for both hire and sale to suit all customer requirements and applications. Beams are used largely in connection with all types of scaffolding, system scaffolding to provide openings and bridges within a structure, spreading the load through the scaffold, used in suspended and mobile platforms, birdcages, crash decks, large span bridging, temporary roofing and any structure where load is spread to achieve access where conventional scaffolding cannot meet the needs from the ground.

To consider the use of beams the contractor must always take into account the strength of the beam in its application, the span, anticipated load, its permissible strength and compatibility. Not all Beams are the same and it is essential that in considering an application the highest possible strength is obtained. All Generation Beams are rated as permissible loadings giving both Shear and Bending Moment values. This is useful information for temporary works designers who must be involved in any temporary works structure.

The most popular beam used for scaffolding and access is the Generation High Capacity 450 beam, the market leader in the UK and Europe for the last 15 years. Available for both hire and sale through our branch network.

Interchangeable with Layher Beams and RUX/HAKI beams
Greater load moment capacity than Layher or RUX/HAKI
Overall depth 0.45m, in lengths 4.1, 6.1 and 8.1m
All horizontal members in traditional scaffold tube size, allowing easy connection of traditional scaffold couplers which can be located at node points for increased strength.
Vertical posts at each end, with additional intermediate vertical posts which provides greater strength.
Beams are joined end to end using the Generation universal spigot and Spring Clips.

Maximum bending moment = 18.5kNm
Maximum shear force = 12.2kN

For Heavier applications and increased loading capacity the ultimate scaffolder’s beam is the Generation High Capacity 780 Beam. Available for both hire and sale.

High strength, low weight and maximum versatility.
Overall depths 0.78m. Lengths from 2m to 6m.
All members manufactured in traditional scaffold tube size.
Vertical posts are provided each 1m on all beam sizes.
Consistent node spacing when multiple beams are joined.
Node points spaced to connect a standard scaffold fitting at any point.
Joined using the Generation SS spigot connector.

This Beam  is also fully compatible with the Generation Aluminium Roofing System  and is an integral component giving maximum utilisation of the equipment. Made in the EU to ISO 9001:2000 from Alloy 6082 T6. Permissible Capacities to BS 8118:Part 1:1991

For similarly Heavy applications Generation also supply on a Hire basis the Generation Diamond 750mm Beam. Distinctive in appearance the Diamond Beam is designed for extreme strength and performance and is a reliable beam preferred by the Scaffolding Industry.
Supplied in 1m, 3m and 4m Sections the beam is joined by the use 0f integral spigots and spring clips.

Maximum shear force = 32.2kN

New Product recently introduced is the new Generation DAX beam 750
Totally  compatible with existing stocks of Diamond Beam with superior capacity.
Also fits with the X-beam (capacity not equivalent)
Overall depths 0.75m. Lengths from 2m to 6m.
All members manufactured in traditional scaffold tube size, including diagonals.
Vertical posts are provided each 1m on all beam sizes.
Offers consistent node spacing when multiple beams are joined.
Node points spaced to connect a standard scaffold fitting at any point.

Joined using the Generation DAX spigot connector.

Also available are the Original Layher Aluminium Beams available in 8m,6m and 4m lengths. This popular alternative beam is available through Generation Branches as a sale item. 450mm deep the beam is compatible with other 450 beams using a universal spigot joint.
